The foundation of my home educating philosophy was built using the old and new testament scriptures, Dr Raymond and Dorothy Moore's work focusing on the "Moore Formula" which targets 1/3 work, 1/3 service and 1/3 academics, with the latter being stressed once character is developed after age 13.
The primary goal for life with us at home is to love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love their family, community, and country as they love their selves.
Using the theory of Multiple Intelligence, along with other various tools*, I worked to oversee all sorts of development including but not limited to the following.
In terms of formal academics, here is what I primarily used for the various subjects:
Science
Elementary levels done with Mom and Dad in the kitchen, garage, gardens, etc
Middle levels (for youngest four students)
Science Shephard
Earth
Physical
Unearthing the Bible
Astronomy
High School levels
101 Series DvD's
Chemistry 101
Physics 101
Biology 101
General 101
Also included various books throughout all their years. Will share those elsewhere here.
Math
Once at reading level (middle to high school)

Social Studies
World History
Mystery of History
Book 1, 2, 3, & 4

For each of our six students, I built this for them individually. The first and oldest two went through most of the same content at roughly the same time. The next two were on completely different content, and the final two are going through with much a smattering of what the first two did.

How They Learn
Romans 12 Giftings
16 personalities
Big 5
As for chores, eventually we worked to implement the Skylight system, with the goal of giving:
1 point for Body tasks
2 points for Chores
3 points for learning activities
4 points for serving and or working
5 for free time (no points earned)
Examples of various maturity skills we work on:
Be mindful - keep your relational skills on (BE KIND) while doing tasks, otherwise take a break to regulate your emotions before continuing.
I was very ill for a long season of their growing years, and so some skills needed to be attended to later than usual, like HABIT building (eating proper meals, cleaning up after self, etc)
